Ettore Sottsass "Kachina" 2005-10 |
The exhibition features the work of two of the most important designers worldwide, Japan’s leading designer Shiro Kuramata and master of Italian design Ettore Sottsass. The deep friendship and collaboration of the two designers started in 1981 with the Memphis collective that brought groundbreaking impact into the design world, mixing two different elements: Kuramata’s Japanese aesthetics and Sottsass’ Western European ideology. The visitors are able to enjoy 65 pieces of Kuramata’s work after 1980 and 20 never-seen-before art pieces Kachina from Ettore Sottsass drawings created in his final years.
