Savanasnegras

Savanasnegras a.k.a. Marisol F.Collado is a mexican photographer than lived in the streets of Mexico Ciity for ten years. As a homeless, she had to sleep in the streets, in the airport,in the subway, in abandoned buildings or even in funerals, living a strange and lonely life. Her inspiration comes from her past bizarre life, where she had the chance to meet and observe various kinds of people and personalities from prostitutes, transvestites and drug-addicts to succesful businessmen, housewives and students giving her images a dark, multicoloured, dreamy effect. Savanasnegras studied photography at the CMF in Mexico City, has entered and won several photography contests and her work has been exhibited in many big galleries in major cities around the world.

S/S 2012 Fashion Weeks by Achraf Amiri

Achraf Amiri is a super talented graphic artist and illustrator from Brussels, with a really great taste in fashion. He calls himself "the hidden son of the Addams Family" and creates the most unusual and extraordinary fashion-inspired illustrations you may have seen around. Achraf's style is often grotesque and humouristic with a heavy dose of playful colours and slim sillhouettes, making him standing out from the crowd. Below you can have a look at his latest project inspired by the S/S 2012 Fashion Weeks of Milan, Paris, London and New York and don't forget to visit his blog for more exciting images.

Waters

Paris-based artist and designer Kira Lillie presents Waters, a beautiful new short film about the element of water, the understanding of its power, symbolism and purification, portrayed through religion. A really fresh and strong piece, featuring Olga Sherer and Bianca O' Brien.

The Circus Book

When i was little i was always afraid of circus people.. I thought they were some kind of monsters, really strange and unreachable. However, after growing up and being extremely lucky to work on a couple of projects with them, i had the chance to find out that they are a really special and talented race, worth to be explored. Since then, i've been reading and searsching a lot about circus people and one of my latest findings is this lovely book by Noel Daniel titled the Circus Book: 1870-1950 reporting everything about these incredible artists during these eras. Rare illusrtations and photos feature odd clowns or dazzling showgirls and aerialists with the most fancy costumes and make-up in amazing locations. A beautiful, inspiring and collectable piece.

A.F. Vandevorst Behind-the-Scenes

A fresh, new view on catwalk backstage by Tim Lebacq for the S/S 2012 collection of A.F. Vandevorst. I think you should pay attention not only to the awsome outfits, but to the brilliant slow-motion direction as well. Really different from all the behind-the-scenes films i've seen lately.
