Shiatzy Chen S/S 2012 Collection

Shiatzy Chen drew inspiration from the chinese snuff bottles of the 17th century, famous for their bright colours, floral patterns and calligraphy designs. Mixing Chinese craftsmanship with the Western style, especially its 60’s icons, like Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy, Shiatzy created a really special collection for the contemporary woman with vintage and exotic references. The collection is based on geometric silhouettes and elegant three-quarter suits, girly dresses and hot bodysuits in retro-neon colours, Chinese blue, porcelain white and red of the Qing Dyansty lacquerware. The material selection is as luxurious as the style: transluscent glossy organza, satin and flower-print jacquard embroidered with pearls, corals and swarovski crystals. Excellent, beautiful, chic.

Searching for Cyber

A short documentary film about Tokyo Decadance, an exciting event held monthly in Tokyo, featuring interviews of the most extravagant cyber-style dressed individuals you may meet at a party. I think that one night at Tokyo Decadance equals to one advanced fashion class.

Maurizio Anzeri

Maurizio Anzeri’s art is a different approach on surrealism, an unusual trip from the past to the future. Handstitching on vintage found photographs, Maurizio uses embroidery to create unworldly, abstract masks on unknown faces, making or reshaping their personal stories. His iconic work also includes a wide collection of hair sculptures that have already received excellent reviews, great fashion collaborations with Alexander McQueen, Isabella Blow, and Dazed & Confused magazine and many important participations at exhibitions in Britain, France and Italy. Viktor & Rolf S/S 2012 Collection

Viktor & Rolf reinterpret their signature doll icon for next summer with a spectacular collection and with a brilliant show. Two giant skirt silhouettes were set on stage with Brigitte band performing on top of them, with models walking through, wearing highly feminine daywear looks and show - stopping gowns in peach, pink, coral and bright blue colours. The great surprise were for sure the amazing decorations of supersized stiches and lace patterns, adorned with exaggerated buttons, hooks and eyelets. Really refreshing and inspiring.

Vivienne Westwood S/S 2012 Collection

Inspired from exotic Geishas, Vivienne Westwood created deconstructed kimonos with complicated drapings, strong shoulders and huge proportions for her summer collection. Remaining commited to her famous theatrical style, she teamed her outfits with the most gorgeous chunky heels, tassel earrings and big hats to create an inspiring, mysterious and perhaps one of the most edgy collections seen so far.
