Thakoon Pre-Fall 2012 Collection
Classical, textured and 3-dimensional: Thakoon's Pre-Fall 2011 collection is an ode to extravagant luxury with wearable, functional outfits. Soft pastel shades with pops of fuschia and mustard are attached to mini length dresses and skirts, all teamed with sophisticated tops, jackets and coats decorated with rich pleats, cable knit detailing, cinched waists and full volume. The selection of fine materials like Melange wool, mongolian lamb, silk, calfskin, striped mohair, cable knit and cotton poplin makes the collection even more desirable. As for the shoes? Just forget sky-high heels for the moment. The designer suggests ballet flats, loafers, pumps and boots to complete the ultra-feminine look. A beautiful collection that screams Fall.
Mark Ryden - Pinxit
Cherubic girls, psychic figures and disturbing archetypes are the body and soul of artist Mark Ryden’s work, the king of cultural kitsch who since the 90’s has drawn global attention. His paintings are among the most recognizable, with big-eyed, nostalgic dressed girls, mythical bunnies and lots of meat. Pinxit is a new limited-edition book by Taschen featuring highlights from Ryden’s greatest exhibitions and includes collected essays by Yoshitomo Nara, Carlo McCormick and others along with a new essay by culture critic Kristine McKenna. All his paintings and sketches are reproduced with the finest techniques available, while over a dozen of them are foldouts. The super-glossy book is coming out in a boxed collector’s edition of 1000 copies signed by the artist. You can buy it here

Trine Lindegaard S/S 2012 Collection
Danish designer Trine Lindegaard specializes in avant-garde menswear fashion. Trine is a graduate of the Instituto Carlo Secoli in Milan, the Middlessex University in London and the Royal College of Art, while her graduate collection was voted among the ones to watch by Vogue.com. Since her graduation she started evolving rapidly by selling her own label through ASOS, also collaborating with textile designer Elisabeth Buecher on a special label titled Move Me Shirts, currently on sale at the Tate Modern.
Her new exciting collection for next summer is dealing with Trine's favourite elements: bright colours, experimental sewing techniques and playfulness. The result is a desirable and extravagant collection, a celebration of everyday objects with rubber bands widely layered and stitched together to create an intriguing play of different dimensions on sweaters, pants, shorts, impressive coats, even on wigs. She's a genious, really can't wait to see her next collection.
