Joji Kojima

Joji Kojima's sculptural accessories draw inspiration by anything macabre, from sculls and bones to fetish masks, full  of the glitz of chains, crystals and semi-precious stones.

Born in California IN 1987, Joji started creating jewellery at the age of 15. He studied Graphing Design at the Tama Art University and while was still a student he worked as an assistant at Yoshiko Creation Paris and created his own label Hotel Gluttony.

Since, then he has attracted the interest of the fashion world with presence at his own exhibition in Tokyo in 2010 and a collaboration with Lady Gaga for her album cover, using his new brand name, Joji Kojima.

Dress Up

A few interesting styles that caught my eye at the Digitaria show:

                                                                   A daring mix of prints

Flashy, shiny sportswear for evening

A huge t-shirt worn as dress paired with statement jewellery, the latest trend

Post - punk style with spikey detailing

Digitaria F.W 2011-12 Collection

The latest presentation of the new collection of Digitaria by Eleftheria Arapoglou, was more astonishing than i imagined while heading there. Held at Kunsthalle Athena, the hypest culture spot of Athens,as part of the 4Fashion/Shake Festival and full crowded by anticipating guests.
There was more than heat and excitement backstage..

Designer Eleftheria Arapoglou, a few minutes before the show

In this avant-garde presentation, the performers were kept hidden under cocoon shells, slowly revealing their outfits.

Eleftheria's pieces are based on really great tailoring, with exaggerated shoulders, puffy sleeves and slouchy lines, made of wool, fine silk, organza and leather with lace effect and quited detailing, while the colour palette is kept quiet with basic colours like black, grey and touches of light blue and red.

Highlight of the collection: the astonishing masks and cyber shoes!

A marching finale

Joe Nishizawa

As we are all not so much aware of technological photography, there is one person that shows the best of his efforts in this unusual form of art. Photographer Joe Nishizawa is a specialist in shooting Japan’s real underground: rail or utility tunnels, even nuclear power plants, all the strange, unknown places that lie below the surface, with limited entrance to common people. Joe’s pictures are a futuristic trip to hyper-reality, with extraordinary locations similar to Blade Runner set design and natural vivid colours, surprised to know they are not digitally retouched.

Joe has published four books with more than exciting pictures, while his work has been featured in high-class editions like Vanity Fair, Time, Focus and Discovery Channel Magazine. In the past, he took part in the very inetersting Tokyo-Tunnelix project, an avant-garde fashion show held underground Tokyo, in a 9.8 km tunnel built between Ikebukuro and Shibuya areas.
